The weather was perfect! The boys took off for KHWY, got in our plane and flew to Orange County where John was scheduled for his first jump - a birthday gift for his 18th birthday! As is tradition in our family - dad gets to jump along with his kiddos- he did with Laura in Colorado and Melissa in Pennsylvania!
After their jump, while they waited for the video of John's momentous occasion, John decided to head up and get a little time in the Cherokee himself... that's when I suggested to Bill that maybe John would like to jump again. Bill radioed John and told him to come to a complete stop on the next landing - John thought he had done something wrong :-). John was ecstatic to get to fly again. He was on the list of the last flight of the day - a sunset dive. While waiting he also got to go up as co-pilot on the jump plane! All in all, a great day for my boys!
