WOW!

Sometimes life just gets in the way of you doing all the things you want to... like updating a blog :-) In the past month we have had an anniversary, birthday, family and friends visiting, retirement, another birthday, a trip to the Emergency room, a college graduation, a trip to St. Louis, an over night stay in the hospital, a High School Prom and finally some, hopefully, great news! WOW! I'd say we have been busy!

This afternoon John had a follow up visit with a GI doctor to help get a waiver for ROTC. The doctor was fantastic and hopefully very helpful! He is a Navy flight surgeon and has filled out the paperwork for John stating "recommend acceptance into ROTC/Service Academy without reservations." Now, I know this guy isn't the one making the decisions, and we all know Who really is in control... but, we are one step closer to getting this whole college thing figured out for John.

Melissa hit her milestone quarter-century birthday! Our little girl is growing up :-)

Bill and I spent a few days earlier this month in St Louis seeing family, but most importantly seeing a new doctor. We will be working with this doctor to see if there might be some alternative treatments for Bill. This doctor has worked in Bolivia before and is familiar with parasites - interesting... Bill is on a regiment for the next 6 weeks. Lord willing, at the end we will see an improvement - not necessarily 100%, but we would be thrilled to see more energy and less of other not so pleasant things :-)

Looks like Laura and our "sillie" have some word of their next assignment... but as we know from 30 years in the Air Force nothing is set in concrete until you actually get to the next base... but, their year apart is coming to a close... sad for us, but such a blessing for them! By the end of July they will be back together!

Not sure how long before we hear back from the DoD Medical Evaluation Review Board about John, but we will keep you posted... thanks for all your prayers!
