Yesterday was also, believe it or not, my inaugural flight in our airplane after more than two years. Bill was on his way home from visiting him mom when he called and suggested Laura and I come meet him at the airport. It was great fun to go out and think about flying into the sunset which is exactly what Bill had in mind. The colors over the Shenandoah Valley are starting to really shine! Unfortunately we were just a little late to get the full effect - but in another week, it should be beautiful!
Here's a picture of our airplane when the boys flew to KY shortly after we bought it. Bill has done a lot of flying back and forth to visit his mom and sister & family. John spent this past summer flying as much as he could. By the end of the summer he took his checkride - and now is the proud owner of his Private Pilot Certificate. With three pilots in the family now, I still find it very easy to answer the question we always asked the kids when they were little.... "Who's the BEST pilot in the world?" Laura finds it a bit of a challenge, but I know in her heart of hearts, she knows the right answer :-)

oh mom, you have to clarify . . . best bomber pilot, best fighter pilot, and best under 18 pilot . . .
love you
We didn't clarify when you were little - don't think we should now. Just "the BEST pilot in the world" works for me!
