To all of our family and friends we wish you a happy, healthy and safe New Year!
Our holidays have been restful and relaxing; sort of the calm before the chaos! We were able to spend Christmas Eve in Fredricksburg with dear friends and attend Lifepoint church - a GREAT place to worship and feel the presence of our God!
As we enter into 2009 there are lots of things for us to look forward to. Retirement is the biggie! Bill is busy putting his resume together and actually sending it out to a few places. Our hearts desire is to remain in this area where we believe God is calling us.
John is now a Cadet/2Lt in Civil Air Patrol - earning his Billy Mitchell award on Dec 26th!
We also are praying for a healthy 2009 for us! John has been seeing some doctors and has more appointments in the next two weeks with specialists and for more tests. For an almost 18 year old guy to lose 20 pounds in only 2-3 months just isn't right... so, please keep us in your prayers as well.
Laura is having a blast on the other side of the world with our "sillie" :-) while Melissa is hosting a New Years Eve party with her roommates. I must say I am looking forward to next week when we get back into our routine of school, Life Groups, volunteering, Civil Air Patrol, etc. etc. As much as I love the holidays, I am looking forward to putting the house back in order and getting a few projects completed.

Wow. Sounds like you've had a crazy holiday season and have a crazy year coming up. If any family can handle the challenge it's you guys.
Didn't realize that John was sick -- we will certainly be praying.
